The Whisky Coast, Scotland’s west coast whisky trail, presents
“Spirit of the West”, a spectacular weekend event on Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th May 2009 at Inveraray Castle, Argyllshire. Spirit of the West is part of the year long Homecoming Scotland 2009 celebrations and is a key feature of its “Whisky Month” in May. The ticketed two day event will be a celebration of Scotland’s west coast whisky, fine food, history, heritage, rich culture and dramatic scenery in which it is created.

Spirit of the West presents a unique opportunity to meet the master distillers, producers and ambassadors of malts from The Whisky Coast. Meet the key people in the industry, sample limited edition whiskies, new releases and learn more about the wonderful world of west coast whisky. Our masterclasses are priced at £10 each (or £15 for an extended class) and cater for up to 60 people per session. Each masterclass will last approximately 40 minutes.

A Dram(a) Good Ceilidh
The Burns Ceilidh Dinner
Saturday 16th May - 7.30pm for 8.00pm until 1am
Join us against the stunning backdrop of Inveraray Castle for what will be an entertaining evening, celebrating Scotland’s best loved Bard and the wonderful world of west coast whisky.
The Burns Ceilidh Dinner is a black-tie affair and guests will indulge in a sumptuous 4-course ‘Burns Supper’, along with an evening of fun and laughter. YOu will be joined by renowned speaker and world-class authority on Burns; Mr Len Murray, there's theatrical fun from The Walking Theatre Company, you can purchase raffle tickets to win fabulous prizes and of course, dance the night away with our fantastic Ceilidh band – Ceilidh Minogue.
